DBSV hosts inclusive archery camp for youth in Fulda

The German Archery Association (DBSV) hosted an inclusive training camp in Fulda, bringing together 22 children and adolescents from across Germany. The program was designed to bridge gaps between athletes with and without disabilities by providing equal access to rules, training routines, and competitive success.

Brigitte Curtis, the DBSV Federal Youth Leader, emphasized the importance of equality in the sport, stating, "We are open to everyone—regardless of individual limitations." She noted that in archery, participants use the same equipment and shoot from the same distances, making the sport uniquely suited for inclusion.

The camp concluded with the Hesse State Championship in archery running, a format that combines running and shooting similar to a biathlon. This event served as a way to demonstrate that performance and social belonging can be achieved simultaneously through sport.
