Get Jiro animated series set to premiere on Adult Swim

DC Studios and Warner Bros. Animation have released the red band trailer for ‘Get Jiro’, an adult animated series based on the bestselling graphic novels co-written by the late Anthony Bourdain and Joel Rose.

Set in a near-future, post-apocalyptic Los Angeles, the series depicts a society where culinary culture is the dominant force and chefs hold immense power. In this world, food serves as both currency and a symbol of social class, leading to a violent landscape where diners may resort to murder to secure reservations at elite restaurants. The plot follows Jiro, a mysterious and revenge-driven sushi master, as he navigates a brutal culinary turf war.

The series is scheduled to premiere on October 3, 2026, at midnight on Adult Swim’s Toonami block, with episodes becoming available for streaming on HBO Max the following day. The production features a voice cast led by Brian Tee as Jiro, alongside Titus Welliver, Alison Pill, and Justin Kirk. The project was developed by Brian Gatewood and Alessandro Tanaka.
