DC Studios boss confirms discussions with Alan Ritchson

DC Studios co-head Peter Safran has confirmed that the studio has held multiple conversations with actor Alan Ritchson regarding potential roles in the DC Universe (DCU). While discussions have taken place, Safran noted that no specific projects have come to fruition yet.

Safran expressed interest in Ritchson’s acting range, stating, “I also think there’s a lot more depth to him than you might have seen. I think there’s more that he can do that people haven’t seen.” While fans have frequently speculated about Ritchson playing Batman, Safran’s comments suggest the studio is looking for a role that allows the actor to demonstrate more than just physical prowess.

Ritchson has previously addressed casting rumors, telling Variety that while words have been exchanged regarding Batman, he does not strongly believe that specific role is in his future. He has expressed interest in playing a “messier” character rather than a traditional clean-cut hero.
