DC Studios' Clayface releases set photos amid low awareness tracking

New behind-the-scenes images have been released from the set of DC Studios’ “Clayface,” a psychological body-horror film scheduled for theatrical release in North America on October 23, 2026. Directed by James Watkins and starring Tom Rhys Harries as Matt Hagen, the film explores the character's descent from a Hollywood star to a disfigured villain following an experimental treatment.

Despite the upcoming release, early box office tracking suggests challenges for the production. Analyst Brandon Katz noted that while opening weekend intent is nearly double the average for similar films, general awareness is currently lagging behind comparable titles. The film is an R-rated, lower-budget project within the DC Universe, following the commercial struggles of previous entries like “Supergirl.”
