DC Studios may begin production on Batman film next year

Reports suggest that production for the DC Universe (DCU) film ‘The Brave and the Bold’ may be closer than previously anticipated. According to industry insider Jeff Sneider, DC Studios aims to begin production on the Batman project as early as next year, which could lead to a theatrical release in 2028 or 2029.

There is ongoing uncertainty regarding the film's direction. While Andy Muschietti was previously tapped to direct the project, rumors indicate he may not lead the film. Some speculation suggests that DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn could potentially step in to direct, similar to his work on ‘Superman’.
