James Gunn denies 'The Brave and the Bold' delay rumors

James Gunn, co-CEO of DC Studios, has denied rumors that the upcoming Batman film, ‘The Brave and the Bold’, has been put on hold. The speculation arose following reports from columnist Dan Marcus, who claimed director Andy Muschietti suggested work on the project was paused pending the resolution of the Warner Bros. Discovery and Paramount merger.

Gunn addressed the rumors on social media, stating, “It doesn’t sound like something Andy would have said but the project is in no way on hold.” He further clarified that no projects across the DC Studios slate are currently idle due to the pending merger.

In a related development, reports suggest the DCU’s version of Batman may make an appearance in the upcoming animated feature ‘Dynamic Duo’ before his live-action debut. The animated film, which focuses on Dick Grayson and Jason Todd, is reportedly set within the main DCU continuity and is scheduled for a theatrical release on June 30, 2028.
