Vansh Bedi denies match-fixing allegations amid DPL corruption report

The Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) has reported a corruption approach during the Delhi Premier League (DPL) to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Wicketkeeper-batter Vansh Bedi, who played for the Central Delhi Kings, reportedly flagged a corrupt approach by a player from Uttar Pradesh to the league’s Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU) and immediately followed protocol by reporting the incident.

These developments follow a Tehelka sting operation involving former Ranji player Rachit Bhatia. Bhatia allegedly claimed to have leaked confidential playing XI information to London-based bookmakers during the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) involving Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and suggested similar activities in the DPL. While the sting operation raised questions regarding match-fixing and line-up leaks, the DDCA has stated that the allegations remain unverified by competent authorities.

Vansh Bedi has issued a strong denial, labeling the claims “false and defamatory.” He stated that he is not the individual referred to in the Tehelka report and has initiated civil and criminal legal action against those spreading misinformation. The DDCA has sought guidance from the BCCI and confirmed that anti-corruption measures, including specialized officers, were in place throughout the DPL tournament.
