DDR5 memory prices rise by 10-15% amid supply shortages

DDR5 memory prices are experiencing a significant increase of between 10% and 15%, according to reports from system assembler Stince Built. The price hike is being driven by supply chain pressures and a global shortage of DRAM and NAND Flash components.

In addition to rising costs, suppliers have reportedly begun canceling existing open orders to fulfill new orders at the higher price points. This practice forces assemblers to repurchase stock at increased rates. Analysts note that the cost of RAM is rising to a level where it may exceed the price of other major components like CPUs or GPUs, impacting the affordability of high-performance PC builds.
