DDR5 RAM prices in Germany surge nearly 5X due to AI boom

DDR5 RAM prices in Germany have experienced a massive surge, with average costs reaching nearly five times the levels seen in July 2025. Data from the price comparison platform Geizhals, analyzed by 3D Center, indicates that the price index rose from 445% to 486% in August.

The price hike is attributed to the ongoing AI boom, which is driving up demand and making budget-friendly PC builds increasingly difficult. Higher-capacity modules, including 32 GB, 48 GB, and 64 GB kits, have seen significant double-digit growth. While the trend is being analyzed specifically within the German market, similar patterns are being observed globally.
