De Cecco breaks ground on new fresh pasta plant in Ortona

De Cecco has officially commenced construction on a new production facility dedicated to fresh pasta in Ortona, Italy. The groundbreaking ceremony took place at the company’s Contrada Caldari site, attended by company leadership, local officials, and law enforcement representatives.

Designed by Mario Cucinella Architects (MCA), the new complex will span approximately 19,000 square meters across multiple levels. The facility is intended to integrate production, logistics, research activities, and personnel spaces into a single unified system. The architectural design features extensive glazing and zenithal openings to maximize natural light, alongside wooden facades and photovoltaic systems to meet high environmental and energy efficiency standards.

The project is situated within a Special Economic Zone (ZES), which provides streamlined and accelerated authorization procedures for the investment. Filippo Antonio De Cecco, President of the De Cecco Group, described the new plant as an act of confidence in the future and a commitment to investing in both quality and personnel.
