De Cecco receives approval for 28,000 square meter plant expansion
The municipal council of Ortona has approved the expansion of the Molino e Pastificio De Cecco Spa industrial complex. The project, which was previously authorized through the Zes Unica special procedure, covers a total area of 28,140 square meters.
The expansion involves reclassifying urban land: 3,680 square meters will transition from E1 to D1, and 24,460 square meters will change from E2 to D1. As part of the agreement, De Cecco is required to fund and execute the necessary urbanization works and infrastructure to support the site.
In exchange for the increased value generated by the urban rezoning, the company will pay a special contribution of 334,162.50 euros to the municipality. These funds are earmarked for public works and services within the affected area. The project also includes the declassification of a section of via Tratturello to reorganize local traffic flow.
