De Gordel 2026 announces new castle and train attractions

The 45th edition of De Gordel is scheduled for Sunday, September 6, 2026, in the Vlaamse Rand region. The event aims to celebrate the green and Flemish character of the area through a diverse program of sports, culture, and culinary experiences.

Key locations for the festivities include the Meise Botanical Garden and the Huizingen Provincial Domain. New additions to the 2026 program include the ‘Gordelkasteel’, an experiential castle inspired by local landmarks, and the ‘Gordelexpress’. Minister Ben Weyts noted that the event continues to evolve annually to provide new offerings for families and visitors.
