De Groote Peel hosts environmental and conservation events
Various environmental and community activities are scheduled for mid-October in the De Groote Peel national park area in the Netherlands.
On Sunday, October 18, 2026, a guided boot expedition will take place in Ospel to raise awareness about water management and climate change. Participants will explore the marshlands via boardwalks to learn about the importance of preserving the area's water resources. Registration through Staatsbosbeheer is required.
Additionally, on Saturday, October 17, the Nature Impact Day will be held for young adults aged 18 to 35. Organized by IVN Asten-Someren, IVN Limburg, and Staatsbosbeheer, the event focuses on active nature maintenance, such as tending to butterfly and herb gardens or removing young birch trees to preserve the open landscape. The day includes activities related to mental health and cooking with local plants, concluding with a meal and live music.
