De Kleine Planeet school undergoes safety inspection in Zottegem

The fire department conducted a safety inspection at the De Kleine Planeet primary school in Zottegem following reports of potential structural stability issues in a classroom.

While the inspection confirmed that most classrooms remain safe for use, the first-grade classroom requires further technical investigation. As a precautionary measure, students from the first grade are being temporarily relocated to a different site while a stability engineer performs additional checks.

Mayor Evelien De Both stated that the city is taking no risks regarding the safety of students and staff, emphasizing that the situation is being closely monitored by technical experts.
