De Muziekmakerij seeks to become a professional urban music school in Arnhem

De Muziekmakerij, a collective of approximately forty professional music teachers in Arnhem, has announced ambitions to transform into a fully professional urban music school. The organization recently submitted a positioning paper to the Arnhem city council outlining plans for future growth.

Currently, the collective lacks a stable financial foundation and professional management, with many administrative and fundraising tasks being handled voluntarily by teachers. The group aims to establish professional leadership and expand its activities beyond the city center into various Arnhem neighborhoods to make music education more affordable.

To showcase its offerings, De Muziekmakerij is hosting a free open house on Saturday, September 12, at Rozet. The event will feature trial lessons, instrument testing, and performances by students and teachers.
