Storm Austen causes football cancellations in Belgium

Storm Austen led to the cancellation of a high-profile football match in Aalst between Eendracht Aalst Lede and KV Diksmuide-Oostende. The city of Aalst also cancelled several other activities, including the Nacht van de Jeugdbeweging and a Circus Barones performance, following an orange wind warning issued by the KMI.

The storm also impacted professional football in Belgium. The Pro League cancelled all scheduled Jupiler Pro League and Challenger Pro League matches for Friday evening in West Flanders, East Flanders, and Henegouwen, with plans to reschedule them for Wednesday, November 4.

Football Vlaanderen is expected to determine a new date for the Aalst vs. KVDO match next week. Supporters holding tickets for the postponed match will receive further information regarding the new schedule and ticketing regulations in the coming days.
