De Wills Baseball Club wins Super Five Baseball Championship

De Wills Baseball Club of Bayelsa has secured the Super Five Baseball Championship after defeating defending champions Delta State in the final held at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja. The tournament served as the conclusion of a national league season that originally featured 17 competing clubs across various locations, including Kwara and Rivers.

Uche Odozor, President of the Nigeria Baseball and Softball Federation and President of the World Baseball and Softball Confederation for Africa, noted that the Super Five format brings together the top five teams from the league. To support talent development, analysts from Japan were present at the championship to evaluate local players. Selected athletes are scheduled to travel to Japan in November for intensive training as part of a program to prepare a national team for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
