Dealu Mare Wine Road offers autumn tourism in Romania
The Dealu Mare region in Romania, spanning the counties of Prahova and Buzău, offers a significant autumn tourism destination through its Wine Road. This viticultural area, which boasts a tradition spanning over two millennia, is particularly noted for its red wines, including varieties such as Feteasca Neagră, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Pinot Noir.
The tourism route in Prahova, established in 2004, covers approximately 58 kilometers and passes through localities including Filipeștii de Pădure, Urlați, and Ceptura. Visitors to the region can explore modern wineries, historical cellars, boyar manors, and museums. In Buzău, a similar circuit known as the Wine Cellar Road extends for about 50 kilometers, highlighting the area's deep-rooted connection to viticulture.
