Dean David R. Corpuz Premieres Film at Cinemalaya 22

Mapúa University School of Multimedia and Digital Arts Dean David R. Corpuz directed and co‑wrote the 110‑minute drama “Tayo Lang Ang Nakakaalam.” He premiered the film at the Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival (Cinemalaya 22) in Manila, which runs from Aug. 6‑18, 2026. The story follows Neil (Martin del Rosario) and Bong (Miguel Odron) as they cope with Bong’s sudden, debilitating illness, exploring themes of love, grief and long‑standing family rifts, with supporting roles by Yayo Aguila, Epy Quizon and others.

Corpuz balanced his duties as dean with the film’s production, receiving backing from Mapúa President Dodjie S. Maestrecampo and delegating day‑to‑day leadership to Officer‑in‑Charge Dean Karen Rey while on set. The film was selected as a Cinemalaya finalist in October 2025, marking the university’s active support for creative practice within an academic environment.
