Dean Hall introduces GRUNTZ, a cooperative survival game

Dean Hall, the creator of DayZ and founder of RocketWerkz, has unveiled GRUNTZ, a new top-down multiplayer survival game. Developed using the open-source BRUTAL framework based on C#, the game emphasizes player cooperation within a colony setting.

Players assume various roles, such as soldiers, surgeons, cooks, engineers, or cleaners, to manage resources and defend against threats. The game features a high-stakes single-life mechanic and a detailed injury system where specific body part damage affects movement and requires medical attention. Environmental hazards, such as uncontrolled fires, can also cause structural damage or explosions.

GRUNTZ offers three distinct game modes: Zombie Survival, involving colony fortification against undead waves; Xeno Survival, featuring nightly alien attacks; and Anomaly, where players must survive an invincible entity. A free prototype is currently available for Windows and Linux via the Ahwoo launcher.
