Dean James and Joey Pelupessy discuss Indonesia's ASEAN Cup win

Indonesia national team players Dean James and Joey Pelupessy have shared personal anecdotes regarding their friendship and recent success during the ASEAN Cup. The duo, who have been roommates for approximately eighteen months, recently secured the tournament title following a penalty shootout victory.

In an interview with RTV Oost, the players discussed their bond and a humorous incident in a hotel. Pelupessy recounted a night when James, returning from the restroom in the middle of the night, mistakenly crawled into Pelupessy’s bed instead of his own. The confusion led to a moment of laughter between the teammates.

James played a significant role in the final against Thailand, scoring an early goal. While Indonesia eventually fell behind, they secured the win through penalties. James noted his confidence in taking penalties, while Pelupessy expressed that the victory provided a sense of redemption following previous disappointments in international competition.
