Dean Wade signs four-year deal with Philadelphia 76ers

Dean Wade has signed a four-year, approximately $38.7 million to $39 million contract with the Philadelphia 76ers, departing the Cleveland Cavaliers after seven seasons. Wade noted that while he felt comfortable in Cleveland and valued his relationships there, he wanted to experience a new chapter in his career.

A significant factor in his decision was his relationship with Philadelphia executive Mike Gansey, a former Cleveland general manager. Wade stated that the opportunity to play for a competitive contender stood out during his decision-making process.

Following his signing, the 76ers' roster underwent major changes with the addition of Jaylen Brown and LeBron James. Wade described the current Philadelphia roster as the best team he has ever played on, noting that the talent level has elevated the team into a legitimate championship contender.
