Dearborn City Council meeting sees arrests during activist-led protest

A confrontation occurred in Dearborn, Michigan, during a City Council meeting held at the Henry Ford Centennial Library. Protesters organized under the name “Christian Crusader March,” led by activist Jake Lang and Detroit pastor Lorenzo Sewell, gathered to hold an anti-Muslim rally.

The event drew a massive police presence, including officers in riot gear, to manage clashes between the organizers and counter-protesters. While unverified social media reports suggested Lang may have been attacked by counter-protesters, these claims remain unconfirmed.

During the meeting, Lang addressed the council, making statements regarding Muslim populations. He attempted to bring a Quran to the podium but was denied by a councilmember, who stated that “no books or props” were allowed. Lang was subsequently escorted from the meeting by police after he began tearing the book.
