Dearborn homeowner confronts driver using lawn to avoid flooding

A viral video captured a heated confrontation in Dearborn, Michigan, between a homeowner and a driver attempting to bypass flooded streets. On September 3, a woman driving a white SUV steered onto a sidewalk and across residential lawns to avoid stormwater, nearly striking a man standing outside his home.

The homeowner, who requested anonymity, engaged in a profanity-laced shouting match with the driver, identified as Lacie, after striking the vehicle's window. The driver allegedly told the man he was “about to die” during the exchange.

The man later expressed embarrassment over the confrontation and attributed his agitated reaction to his Parkinson’s disease, noting that the condition causes him to shake and makes communication difficult when upset. He also expressed concern that the vehicle might damage his property's sprinkler system. While the SUV left ruts in his lawn, no other significant damage was reported.
