Dearsan Gemi İnşaat to build new naval and civilian vessel facility in Kocaeli

Dearsan Gemi İnşaat Sanayi A.Ş., owned by Aziz Yıldırım, is establishing a new production facility in the Çayırova district of Kocaeli, Turkey. The project, valued at 16.45 million TL, aims to manufacture both military and civilian maritime platforms.

The facility will occupy a 10,734-square-meter area, with 5,823 square meters of enclosed space. The planned production capacity includes up to 68 military vessels of various sizes, 68 passenger ships, and three submarines per year. The submarines' specific class, dimensions, and propulsion systems have not yet been disclosed.

Production processes will be split between locations: metal sheet cutting will occur at Dearsan’s existing shipyard in Tuzla, while the Çayırova facility will handle block assembly, electrical and mechanical installations, insulation, and hull construction. Because the Çayırova site lacks direct sea access, completed hulls will be transported by road to the Tuzla shipyard for launching and final testing.
