Death Stranding live-action film enters pre-production

Pre-production for the live-action film adaptation of Hideo Kojima’s video game, Death Stranding, is set to begin soon. Director Michael Sarnoski announced that location scouting is scheduled to commence within a month.

Produced by A24 in partnership with Kojima Productions, the project aims to be a cinematic experience set within the game's universe rather than a direct translation of the existing plot. Sarnoski expressed satisfaction with the current state of the script and stated his goal is to create an emotional adventure that satisfies fans of the original game while standing on its own.

While specific filming locations have not been finalized, there has been mention of potential filming in Iceland and Northern Ireland. The project follows the success of the game franchise and represents a significant undertaking for A24.
