Deathwoods slasher film set for 2026 release

The retro slasher horror film “Deathwoods” is scheduled for an exclusive streaming release on Screambox on September 1, 2026. Directed by Jake Kopronica and Deryk Wehrley, the film is inspired by 1980s grindhouse cinema.

Set in the woods near Old Hickory, Tennessee, the plot centers on a group of friends on a camping trip. Their excursion turns into a struggle for survival as they encounter a grotesque figure linked to local legends following a historical murder-suicide involving the Wallace family. The cast includes Anthony Dain, Katelynn E. Newberry, MacKenzie Lee, and Kellan Jackson.
