Debbie Clark, ‘American Gladiators’ star Storm, dies at 61
Debbie Clark, known as ‘Storm’ on the television series ‘American Gladiators’, has died at the age of 61. Her family reported that she passed away on Monday, August 24, at her home in Boston, Massachusetts.
Clark’s son, Crayton Clark, stated that her pacemaker stopped working after she overworked herself, leading to what he believes was a cardiac arrest. He reported that she passed away in his arms while waiting for paramedics, who were unable to resuscitate her.
Before her television career, Clark was a highly accomplished athlete. She was an All-American in track and field, competed at the University of Nebraska, and trained with the U.S. Olympic handball program. She joined ‘American Gladiators’ in 1991, where she became a prominent figure in events such as Powerball and Joust.
Crayton Clark has launched a GoFundMe campaign to assist with memorial expenses and to fulfill the family's wish to spread her ashes with her mother.
