Florida primary elections: Pia Dandiya and Debbie Wasserman Schultz win key Democratic nominations

Florida's primary elections saw several significant outcomes across various congressional and senate races. In the 22nd Congressional District, Indian-American educator Pia Dandiya won the Democratic nomination with approximately 68.6% of the vote, defeating Kaysia Earley. Dandiya will face Republican Casey Askar in the November general election.

In the 20th Congressional District, Debbie Wasserman Schultz secured the Democratic nomination following redistricting that placed her in a heavily Democratic Broward County seat. She won a competitive five-way primary that included candidates such as former Representative Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick, who is facing federal fraud charges, and progressive activist Elijah Manley.

Other notable results include Angie Nixon winning the Democratic primary for the U.S. Senate seat, defeating Alex Vindman. In the 7th Congressional District, Republican incumbent Cory Mills lost his reelection bid to Ryan Elijah. Additionally, Jared Moskowitz won the Democratic primary for Florida's 25th District, defeating socialist challenger Oliver Larkin.
