West African political shifts in Senegal, Guinea, and Haiti

Several West African nations are undergoing significant political and administrative shifts. In Senegal, Prime Minister Ahmadou Al Aminou Lô is preparing his first General Policy Declaration (DPG) for the National Assembly, scheduled for September 1, 2026. Opposition leader Modou Diagne Fada of the FDR has criticized the current administration, calling for clarity on the electoral calendar and addressing economic concerns such as inflation and unemployment.

In Guinea, Prime Minister Amadou Oury Bah has introduced a new organizational structure for government departments. The 30 ministries will now be grouped into four strategic poles: Sovereignty and Governance; Economy and Productive Transformation; Infrastructure and Sustainable Development; and Human Capital and Solidarity. This reorganization is specifically designed to accelerate the execution of the Simandou 2040 mining and development program.

In Haiti, former deputy Gary Bodeau has re-entered the political discourse through the REKONSILYE platform. He has commented on the governance of Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé and the necessity of an inclusive electoral process. Additionally, the political group DEBLOKE met with the Prime Minister to request a review of certain administrative requirements in the electoral decree to ensure candidacy remains accessible and realistic.
