Debora Serracchiani challenges Minister Valditara over Monfalcone school visit

Democratic Party deputy Debora Serracchiani and colleague Irene Manzi have filed a parliamentary inquiry regarding Education Minister Giuseppe Valditara’s upcoming visit to Monfalcone. Serracchiani criticized the visit as “purely electoral campaign style propaganda,” questioning whether the trip is part of a systematic inspection of Italian schools exceeding a 30% threshold or a political initiative involving MEP Cisint.

The inquiry demands transparency regarding the Minister’s assessment of the school and demographic situation in Monfalcone. Serracchiani also requested information on whether there has been formal consultation with the Regional School Office for Friuli Venezia Giulia and if technical dossiers exist regarding the implementation of the 30% threshold. The deputy emphasized the need for concrete resources, such as specialized Italian L2 teachers and cultural mediators, rather than political gestures.
