Debrecen arson and Romanian bear attack reported

In Debrecen, Hungary, a woman and a juvenile accomplice face charges after allegedly setting fire to her partner's car in a revenge attack. The woman reportedly used gasoline to ignite the vehicle in a parking lot during the early hours of November 17. The fire spread to two other nearby vehicles, resulting in total damages exceeding 1.8 million forints.

In Romania, an injured elderly man was rescued in Erdőszentgyörgy, Mureș County, after being attacked by a bear. The animal had previously been struck by a car; when a 74-year-old passenger exited the vehicle to inspect the animal, it attacked and injured his leg. The man was rescued by another passenger using a car lift to drive the bear away. The incident highlights ongoing human-wildlife conflict in Transylvania following changes to hunting regulations.
