Debrecen University Hosts Campus Festival with Science Demos and Live Music

From July 22 to 25, Debrecen University organised a multi‑day Campus Festival across several sites on its campus, including the University Square, the SET Centre and the Sport Diagnostic Centre. Visitors could take part in hands‑on scientific experiments such as DNA‑necklace making, a Van de Graaff generator, immunology challenges and vision‑board workshops. A health‑point offered eye and hearing screenings, body‑composition analysis and ultrasound advice, and participants collected stamps to exchange for soft drinks.

The programme also featured talks on drought, antibiotic resistance, artificial intelligence, bitcoin and career building, with a special interview by the director of the BMW plant in Debrecen, Hans‑Peter Kemser. The Unipass‑Alumni stage hosted the admissions‑limit announcement and a surprise gift for newly admitted students. Evening concerts showcased Hungarian acts including 4S Street, Honeybeast, Curtis, Follow The Flow, KKevin, Molnár Tamás, Soulwave, Blahalouisiana and Nótár Mary.
