Poland industrial decarbonization could create 70,000 jobs
Experts and industry reports suggest that a proactive decarbonization strategy could serve as a major driver for the Polish economy, potentially creating over 70,000 new industrial jobs. This growth is particularly anticipated in the Silesian, Lower Silesian, and Greater Poland regions.
A report by Business & Science Poland, titled “Clean Course for Industry,” emphasizes that decarbonization should be viewed as an opportunity to enhance competitiveness, energy security, and independence rather than just a regulatory burden. To succeed, the report suggests Poland needs a long-term industrial strategy, stable regulations, and faster administrative procedures.
Additionally, the role of thermal waste-to-energy conversion is being highlighted as a key component of the energy transition. Experts from the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (NFOŚiGW) noted that developing such installations could help reduce reliance on coal and support municipal and industrial heating systems.
