Decathlon targets 55% CO2 reduction by 2030
Decathlon aims to reduce its CO2 equivalent emissions by approximately 55% by 2030 compared to 2021 levels. Andrea Boldrin, Decathlon’s Sustainability Project Manager, stated that the company uses the Product Environmental Footprint (PEF) method to measure the impact and lifecycle of every product, including its entire supply chain.
The multinational corporation, which operates in over 50 countries, has signed an agreement with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) to formalize these environmental goals. Boldrin noted that while the company has voluntarily published sustainability reports for ten years, upcoming European CSRD regulations will make such reporting mandatory.
