Decimomannu to host second Officina Film Festival

The second edition of the Officina Film Festival is scheduled to take place from September 9 to 12, 2026, at the Antica Valeria municipal theater in Decimomannu. Organized by the association Officina Progetti Aps, the free festival focuses on independent cinema, social significance, and intercultural dialogue.

The event will feature screenings, workshops, and meetings with directors and actors. The opening night will showcase selections from ‘Visioni Sarde 2025’, a project by the Cineteca di Bologna in collaboration with the Federation of Sardinian Circles in Germany. Featured short films include ‘Ajò West’ by Sara Corbioli, ‘Faccia da Cinema’ by Alberto Salvucci, ‘Vida e morti de unu Maragotti’ by Stefano Cau, ‘True Love Waits’ by Simone Cicalò, and ‘Mamma’ by Matteo Martinez.

The festival is supported by the Autonomous Region of Sardinia's Department of Labor as part of its ‘Strategic Network Projects’ for 2026. It also collaborates with the Federation of Sardinian Associations in Italy (FASI) and marks the ‘2026 year of Sardinian emigration to Germany’. Awards for the competition will be crafted by ceramicist Doriana Usai.
