Declan Rice defends high workload sustainability at Arsenal
Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice has dismissed concerns regarding his physical workload, asserting that playing more than 60 games per season is sustainable. This follows a demanding period where Rice completed 69 appearances for both club and country, including a run to the World Cup semi-finals.
Rice acknowledged facing fitness challenges during the World Cup, noting issues with a neural hamstring and an illness. Despite these frustrations and the physical toll of competing in high heat, he maintains that his ability to perform at a high level consistently is manageable.
While Arsenal has reportedly monitored his workload closely—particularly after he returned to training with limited rest—Rice expressed a strong desire to compete this season. He emphasized that his primary focus is maintaining performance levels and helping his team win.
