Declan Rice withdraws from England squad amid Arsenal contract talks

Declan Rice has withdrawn from the England national squad ahead of upcoming Nations League fixtures against Spain and Czechia due to injury concerns. He is one of five players to pull out of Thomas Tuchel’s squad, alongside Cole Palmer, Marcus Rashford, Kobbie Mainoo, and Tino Livramento.

James Garner and Morgan Gibbs-White have been called up as replacements for the squad.

Separately, Arsenal is reportedly preparing to open contract renewal talks with Rice to secure his long-term future. While his current deal runs until 2028, manager Mikel Arteta is pushing to extend the midfielder's stay by an additional three seasons, potentially through 2031, amid interest from clubs such as Real Madrid.
