Decomposed body found in Seman gorge undergoes DNA testing

Authorities in Albania are working to identify a decomposed male body discovered in the Seman gorge. Preliminary examinations conducted at the morgue in Fier were unable to establish the identity of the deceased.

The body has been transferred to the Institute of Forensic Medicine for advanced testing. Experts will perform DNA analysis to determine physical characteristics such as weight and height, as well as to compare the DNA with families who have reported missing relatives.

Fier police sources stated that no signs of violence were found during the initial medical-legal examination. Forensic doctors estimate the time of death occurred approximately two months ago. Investigations are ongoing to match the remains with missing persons reports filed in Fier and other cities across the country.
