Decomposed Female Body Discovered in Villa Los Almácigos, Dominican Republic

Police and the Dominican Republic's Ministry of Public are investigating the discovery of a single female corpse in an advanced state of decomposition. The body was found on Sunday in the Bohío Viejo area, within the Rancho Quemado section of the municipality of Villa Los Almácigos.

Because of the severe deterioration, forensic experts have not yet been able to identify the victim. The remains have been transferred to the Instituto Nacional de Ciencias Forenses (INACIF) for medical examination to determine the cause of death and to establish the victim's identity. The investigation remains open as authorities work to clarify the circumstances surrounding the death.
