DEDECON and DUOC UC host seminar on social media and taxes

The Defensoría Nacional del Contribuyente (DEDECON) and DUOC UC Sede Alameda organized a seminar titled ‘Creadores de contenido que emprenden: redes sociales, negocios e impuestos’ to address the intersection of social media, influencers, and taxation.

The event aimed to provide tax education to students, entrepreneurs, and digital content creators. Discussions focused on the formalization of online economic activities, income generated through digital platforms, and the specific tax obligations and rights associated with these activities.

Emilio Moreno Bravo, subdirector of DEDECON, emphasized the need to inform new entrepreneurs about the fiscal implications of digital transformation. Content creator Ignacio Mena, founder of StarBlade Chile, also participated, suggesting that formalizing a business early provides a solid foundation for growth rather than acting as an obstacle.
