DEDECON and PUC experts analyze taxpayer defense tools

Specialists from the Defensoría del Contribuyente (DEDECON) and the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (PUC) held a seminar in Santiago to evaluate administrative and judicial defense mechanisms for taxpayer rights.

The seminar, titled “Protection of taxpayer rights: mediation, defense and access to tax justice,” focused on the tools available to taxpayers when facing actions from fiscal authorities. A primary focus was placed on tax mediation as a key mechanism for resolving disputes. Experts highlighted that mediation can serve as an efficient tool to reduce both the time and costs associated with tax controversies.
