Dedeman owners plan educational campus in Bacău
Adrian and Dragoș Pavăl, owners of the Dedeman retail chain, are planning to construct an educational campus in Bacău, Romania. The project is located on Letea Street on the site of the former Letea paper factory, which Dedeman acquired in 2019 for 3.16 million euros.
The proposed development includes a two-story school building and a six-story dormitory. The complex is also expected to feature a sports hall, a sports field, a playground, green spaces, and pedestrian paths. Recent administrative filings include requests for environmental permits to cover the construction of the campus as well as necessary infrastructure such as roads, sidewalks, and bicycle lanes.
This project marks a shift from previous plans for the site, which in 2023 and 2024 focused on the development of a tennis academy. It remains unclear if the sports academy project has been abandoned or if it will be integrated into the broader educational campus.
