Dedi Mulyadi Builds Political Base Ahead of 2029 Presidential Bid
The West Java chapter of the Korp Alumni Himpunan Mahasiswa Islam (KAHMI) is holding a presidium election with 16 alumni candidates, including three individuals close to Governor Dedi Mulyadi. The election is intended to create a political infrastructure that could support Mulyadi’s possible candidacy in the 2029 presidential election.
Recent national surveys place Mulyadi’s electability at roughly 35 percent, positioning him as a significant contender. Political analyst Heru Subagia warned that such popularity must be matched by a firm anti‑corruption agenda, urging the prospective candidate to move beyond rhetoric and take concrete action against elite corruption.
