Deeban Lingesh takes historic hat-trick in TNPL 2026 Qualifier

Deeban Lingesh, a fast bowler for the Lyca Kovai Kings, recorded a historic hat-trick during the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) 2026 Qualifier-2 match. Playing at the M. A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, Lingesh stunned the Trichy Grand Cholas by taking three wickets—K. Rajkumar, S. Shyam Sundar, and Jagatheesan Kaushik—on the first three deliveries of his opening over.

After the Kovai Kings posted 183 runs for the loss of five wickets, bolstered by S. Lokeshwar’s 66 runs and captain Shahrukh Khan’s 34 runs off 18 balls, the Trichy Grand Cholas struggled to recover from the early blow. The Cholas were eventually bowled out for 99 runs in 15.4 overs. Manimaran Siddharth contributed significantly to the victory with a four-wicket haul.

With this 84-run victory, the Lyca Kovai Kings have advanced to the TNPL 2026 Grand Final, where they are scheduled to face the Madurai Panthers on August 28, 2026.
