Deebo Samuel Rumored to Join Los Angeles Rams

Thirty‑year‑old wide receiver Deebo Samuel, currently a free agent after a season with the Washington Commanders and six years with the San Francisco 49ers, is being linked to the Los Angeles Rams. Analysts suggest that adding Samuel would give the Rams a deeper receiving corps alongside Davante Adams, Puka Nacua and quarterback Matthew Stafford, potentially creating one of the NFL's most potent offenses.

The move poses significant salary‑cap challenges. Samuel’s existing contract runs through the 2025 season with a sizable cap hit, meaning Rams general manager Les Snead would need to restructure the roster or trade draft capital to accommodate him. While Samuel’s recent production has dipped and he has missed games due to hamstring, ankle and calf injuries, his yards‑after‑catch ability remains elite, keeping him on defensive game plans across the league. A transfer would also shift the balance of power in the NFC West, intensifying the rivalry between the Rams and 49ers.
