Deepak Sandhu sentenced to life for London murder

Deepak Sandhu, 24, has been sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 28 years for the murder of 39-year-old Xiaoqing Ke in Earl’s Court, West London. The Old Bailey court heard that the killing occurred on December 9, 2025, after Ms. Ke ended her relationship with Sandhu following the discovery that he had stolen £500 from her.

Investigations revealed that Sandhu had maintained an elaborate web of lies, falsely claiming to be a successful model and actor and fabricating stories about his professional life and family. He had previously arrived in the UK on a student visa but remained in the country after his sponsorship was revoked following his departure from Southampton Solent University.

In addition to the murder charge, Sandhu was convicted of perverting the course of justice. He had attempted to flee the United Kingdom by booking a flight to Mumbai, India, and had provided false accounts to obstruct the investigation into the stabbing.
