Deepika Padukone's team denies Brahmastra 2 casting rumors

Deepika Padukone’s official representatives have formally denied rumors regarding her involvement in the upcoming fantasy film ‘Brahmastra 2’. The clarification follows widespread speculation that the actress would reprise her role as Amrita, a character she briefly portrayed in the 2022 original film, ‘Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva’.

A spokesperson for Padukone stated, “All recent reports of Deepika Padukone being a part of Brahmastra 2 or associated with the project in any capacity are untrue.” This statement aims to end industry chatter suggesting she would play a central role in the expanding Astraverse.

The sequel, directed by Ayan Mukerji, is expected to feature Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. While Padukone’s involvement has been ruled out, reports indicate that actress Aneet Padda has been approached for a significant role in the production. Shooting for the sequel is tentatively projected to begin around 2027.
