Deepinder Goyal launches Temple health-tech wearable

Deepinder Goyal, the founder of Zomato, is expanding his entrepreneurial focus into high-risk, experimental technology ventures. Having transitioned from Group CEO of Zomato’s parent company, Eternal Ltd, to Vice Chairman, Goyal is now concentrating on two primary areas: LAT Aerospace, which aims to develop pilot-free aviation networks, and Temple, a health-tech startup.

Temple is developing a novel wearable device designed to monitor cerebral health by tracking real-time blood flow to the brain. The compact, pill-shaped device uses a system called ‘BrainFlow’ to measure oxygenation levels, cognitive load, and entropy. Unlike traditional fitness trackers, Temple focuses on the brain, which consumes approximately 20 per cent of the body’s blood supply. The device is designed to be worn between the forehead and the ear using disposable tapes called ‘Grips’ and is thin enough to be worn under glasses.
