DeepSec Secures $7.4 B Funding, Valuation Tops $50 B in Chinese AI Boom

Chinese startup DeepSec closed its first external financing round, raising over $7.4 billion and lifting its valuation to more than $50 billion, placing it among the largest AI unicorns in China. The round marks a shift from self‑funding to significant external capital as the company expands its large‑model AI capabilities.

The funding surge extends to other Chinese tech giants: ByteDance is creating new AI‑related entities, Alibaba Cloud is investing heavily in compute infrastructure for massive AI models, and major Chinese groups are backing startups in robotics and AI‑infrastructure. In June, 34 startups worldwide joined the unicorn club, adding $110 billion in total value, with AI firms accounting for 10 new unicorns worth about $65 billion. Eight of the new unicorns are Chinese, underscoring the rapid inflow of capital into AI and related hardware in China.
